Thanks for posting ! If it wasn't a 3 hour drive, I would definately come and meet you guys.
Maybe in a few months we can plan an excursion to your area.
Or, maybe in a few months, we can plan a Colorado foam fighting weekend camping event ! Sounds like Ogrebane of rowanoak would like to co-host with us. Everyone will be welcome. Check back here for more information.

You should check our forums and such our weapon specs are a little different form yours. We are more like a sport fighting group, and slightly more physical. We are worth checking out, especially of the folks who are more fighting intensive.

Nice pictures, so what is your fighting system similiar to ? Nero ? SCA ? Do you have multiple hit points on your armor ? Do you allow head shots ? Do you hit each other hard ? Do you allow shield bashing or grappling ? Is stabbing legal ? What's the worst injury so far ?

I will post a link to the rules at the bottom: In short: No, head/groin/female chest(unarmored) shots are not permitted, and do not count. Grappling is permitted, with non malicious intent, also grabbing your opponents weapon is also permitted. Shield "checks" are permitted to the torso. (which is not really bashing, but using ones shield to pin someone arms to their body making it difficult for them to swing.) I wouldn't say we hit "HARD", but we do follow thru with our swings. Ideally most people will try to be as technical in fighting as they can be, and "baseball swinging" of any weapon is not allowed. Our weapon construction is slightly heavier than most other foam groups. so in turn our weapons are going to feel a little more solid. I would say at some times a hit may sting due to one "stepping-in" to someone Else's swing. Stabbing, I am assuming you are talking about thrusting of a weapon. Yes it is allowed, as a matter of fact that long spear(with the 3 yellow stripes) you see in the pictures above is a thrusting weapon only. no worries thou. our weapon construction follows pretty strict guidelines, and are perfectly safe. Armor provides protection, there is a point system for that yes. Armor value, and weapon damage vs armor is actually listed in the rules that I will post below. as far as out similarities to another system, thats a hard one. I guess you can kinda say we are like the SCA. I don't really think so thou. Our rules of engagement vary alot. Our strike zones are different as well. We focus primarily of battlefield type team combat. Our parent colony in OK usually average 75-100 people on the weekends in the summer months for straight up massive battles. Factions are one of the big things in our system. Basically a faction is a team with a common theme or interest. The faction battle is usually one of the highlights of weekend fighting. As far as injury, maybe a jammed finger on occasion? or a bruise? I think someone had a finger dislocated once. They really arent that common. I have seen heat exaustion WAY more than anything, and thats just due to not drinkning enough water, or not knowing when to take a break under a shady tree between battles. ;D www.broknarra.homestead.com/files/MELEE_Combat_Rules_and_Laws_of_Conduct_SIXTH_EDITION.pdf

Sounds like fun. I like that there aren't any head shots, we don't allow them in Dagorhir/Belegarth/Amtgard either. Although we do allow shots in the groin and female chest. Belegarth/Dagorhir do sheild bashes, only 3 steps into it though. All our armor = 1 extra hit for the simplicity of game play. Amtgard has a point system according to the thickness of their armor, and I find it confusing. It interferes with the flow of battle. Yeah we (Dagorhir/Belegarth) love the battlefiled tactics. What you call Factions we call Units. Unit battles are so much fun. So are realm battles, which are geographic locations. I'm from the Realm of Mordor (Loveland, Colorado), and I'm part of the National Unit, The Dark Angels. Dagorhir's big event of the year is coming up in 2 weeks. Ragnarok. Last year there were 800 attendants ! The battles are immense. I'm leaving next Thursday to drive out there www.dagorhir.com/ragnarokwww.crynolyn.com/rag18.htmlThanks for telling me about your game. If I made it down to visit, would there be loaner weapons ?

yeah i like looking at all the ragnarok pics. that event looks like a blast. As far as the grion/female chest shots, well, your weapons are slightly more forgiving than ours is. hehe ;D taking a shot in the wang with one of ours will sting slightly longer and loaner weapons? I have close to 30 in my own stockpile. You are welcome to use them! I just trained one of our first colony crafters as well. Hopefully before too long I will have a few trained, and i wont be the primary weapons guy anymore =P
