If anyone wants to send equipment ahead of time, I can get you an address for Sir Wharghoul, he lives like two blocks from the site and said he would recieve any equipment if needed. He is also very trustworthy, so no worries about stuff coming up missing. If I can help in any way to get y'all out, let me know.

Nah, only a 7 hour drive, so I can rent a trailer if need be. The top of my truck is available too. Thanks for the offer though.

Well, it would be awesome to have him along. The boards are saying that it runs Aug. 5-12. So I'm thinking leave Saturday morning of the 4th, full days drive, grab a room, hook up with CW the morning of the 5th and grab camp. Then we can leave CW afternoon Sunday the 12th and depending on how we feel grab another room or just drove home. Home the evening of the 13th at the latest. What do you think? I'm open to any suggestions. Gonna be dragging alot of gear with us, that's for sure.

Dave says that he won't be able to take that much time off of work this summer. Do you have any estimate on how much gas it will take to get there in your car ? Belegarth's page is blocked from me here at work, so if you could copy and paste all the pertinent details, like admission fees etc, I would greatly appreciate it

Boo! Tell Dave I'm sad for him. =( Ok, here is the info I found. Cut and pasted
We have the Bannock County Fairgrounds for the site. The dates will run Aug. 6th through Aug. 12th. We have not paid for any early camping on Aug. 5th. That day will be used for set up of necessary event stuff, however it will be available if there are a few earlybirds. Cool stuff about the site:
* partially shaded battlefield (especially in AM up to about noon) * plenty of shaded seating for spectators * shaded camping sites, preference will be given to those with small children and pregnant wives. * RV hook ups and an area for those of us who are more noisy * area to have one main bonfire, close to noisy camp * Electricity available in both camp areas * Potable water available in camp * Plenty of restrooms all around site * On site showers unlimited use, no extra fees. * Less than 1 mile from 5 major hotels
After learning about the site, I got a bit less enthused. I dunno what I was imagining, but a fair grounds right in the middle of town...just...sucks. I guess I'm too old school and spoiled with Montgomery Bell? Meh! Anyway, I'd still like to consider it. Especially because I'm starting to think Rag may be out due to the "issues" that kept me away last year. Anyway, lets talk about it. Email me.

Though it is in town, which sucks. CW is still a very fun event. Though I go to hang out with friends I go more for the fighting. (Orcs fight to fight) And the fighting at CW is, by all accounts I have heard, way better than Rag. That's just what I have heard, since I have never made it to Rag.

Well, from all my experiences, once you get over 250-300 fighters on the field, it gets too chaotic to really enjoy to any degree. It's just zurging then. No one really stands out at that point. I've always been partial to 300 or less myself. So, with that in mind, I'd imagine that CW would be better than Rag. Until the parties started anyway...

Belegarth has better and more experienced fighters per capita... But Ragnarok is still SO MUCH FUN !!!
I would love to make it to CW, but we shall see about getting the time off of work, ( and gettting the green light from my bf )
Equinox is more probable for me. It's enough months away from Ragnarok that it won't be such a big deal for me to get the time off of work. Weekend events are easier to manage. And I absolutely LOVE Monty Bell & Dur-demarion. The cabins are so nice. The feast hall is perfect, the woods are so alive, the docks are calling to me... I could go on and on !
oops, I didn't mean to derail the CW thread...
Go to Chaos wars !! It's the "Ragnarok" of the west !!
