I am new here and was interested in joining such a cool looking event.
I do have some questions... What requirements are there to joining? Where can I get an outift? If needed, how can I make an outfit? I was at the Dagohir site and have some ideas, but would rather get a better looking outfit than a homemade one.
Thanks, Loki

Talk to Petal, she can make you an outfit almost imediately. I'm currently moving so I would be unable to make one at this time, that and I don't have my sewing machine anymore. Otherwise there would be an option B when it came to garb merchants. However it is only a matter of time before that changes.

Requirements to join...the DBGA participation waiver must be filled out and signed and kept on file with Mordor's Secretary (that would be me currently), If you are under 18, you will have to have the waiver signed by your parent/legal guardian and then notarized.
Eventually, you will need your own weapons, but we have loaner ones temporarily (although if you break them you're responsible for repairing them). We are also instituting loaner garb (simple black tunics and black drawstring pants).
Garb prices are very reasonable...there's no excuse to not have garb anymore. Repairs on seams or hemlines are no charge if I made it. I do weapons covers also.
Mordor brings water to practice every week, but you should bring your own cup/glass/mug whatever. On really cold days, I try to bring hot cocoa.
Mordor is always encouraging donations, although we do not require them....empty out that change jar into the donation bucket! (sorry Nameless!) We'd love to be able to do more for you, but we can't do it without your support.
If you have any other questions, you can post them here or e-mail me directly at petalthepirate@yahoo.com .

Ok, I am 18 and can sign the waiver myself. Where can I get the waiver to sign? I will need a loaner weapon until I can get money to buy one. As for the garb, how much is it to buy one of yours? I am more than happy to donate when I can. On the first sundays of the month, is it still at noon? I could never find a time for those special days.

Alrighty.... The waiver you can get from me or print out yourself by going to dagorhir.com/dagorhir/Dagorhirwaiver.pdfWe have no problem lending you a weapon for the duration of practice and we strongly encourage you to build your own rather than purchasing one. Any one of us can help you build one or you can follow the instructions at dagorhir.com/HowTo/howto.htmGarb is pretty flat rate... pants, tunics, and tabbards are $10.00 plus the cost of fabric (you're welcome to bring me your own fabric as well) cloaks, poet's shirts, and other more complicated garb starts at $20.00 plus the cost of fabric and goes up from there. First Sunday of the Month is at Namaqua Park and we almost never get going until about 1:00 or so....getting these guys out of bed and to the park before noon is almost impossible! So if you show up around 1:15 or so, someone should be there...look for our banner. If there is anything I haven't answered, please feel free to ask. ~Petal

No boots or gloves just yet. Killian Nightshade is working on it. We're hoping for Nightshade Rose Armory to have boots available within the next year or so. If you're looking for boots in the meantime though, you might try www.renboots.com/ or check ebay. Museum Replicas also carries a variety of boots and gloves (as well as overpriced garb) at www.museumreplicas.com/webstore/home.aspx . If you're looking for leather or chainmaille armour, you can talk to Killian Nightshade. ~Petal

Leather sounds cooler, but I bet it's more expensive...

No offense guys, I moved this thread here becasue it was more of a conversation, and I wanted to keep the Mordor Information uncluttered. Hope you don't mind.
I look forward to meeting you at practice Loki !

Can't really quite yet come...I don't have my liscence to drive to Loveland, and I can't ask my current legal guardians(parents in connecticut) because they're always so busy.
Doing drivers test this summer, so fingers crossed and I'll be there some day.
