zagref.tripod.com/Alkazar/alkazar.htmlAlkazar Roxxors Quote; "....generated by Final Fantasy and the extremely oversized weapons used by the characters. Cloud's sword is one of the most commonly built and later thrown away weapons out there. Oversized weapons are certainly legal, however, they aren't really terribly effective. Most new fighters don't understand but as inches are taken off a blade, the more effective it becomes. " It seems as if every brand new fighter wants to make the most enormous sword possible. It's practically a Dagorhir Cliche. A HUGE weapon is not going to be effective on the battlefield. The veterans use medium sized weapons for good reasons. They are manueverable. Save yourself the time and money, please go with a medium sized weapon for starters

If you don't care to make your own weapons, there's a wonderful alternative; www.edhellen.comThey sell kits for making your own weapons as well(Be sure to order weapons for heavy contact fighting.. the Nero style weapons are not for use in Mordor) I buy almost all my weapons and sheilds thru these guys. I highly recommend everything but the red swords.

This is my first attempt at a sword...It feels good to me but I would like more experienced feedback about it before deeming it done and make a cover. I am unable to feel core on the striking side, in fact it is very soft, it does not hurt at all. The one layer on the flat side, I can feel core through if I press hard, but thats how I remember my sword being I bought from Edhellen. Let me know what you think. More layers?

That looks really good! The build looks very similar to how I make my weapons. Over time you might find you have a problem with blow outs along the foams surface but that isn't too bad of a problem yet. Cover it up and start fighting with it! Can't wait to see it in action.

Awesome. I cant wait to use it...I just keep being lazy about finding a group. I made weapons with no place to use them at yet...Saturdays coming up, I will see if I can go check out that Melee group.

Haha. I have also tried making a javelin. It is pretty basic and simple, but I believe it works. 4 foot core. Theres a yellow cloth cover, and its all otherwise covered by hockey tape. Image is horribly out of scale.

Looks like a sound design. Is there anything between the open cell for the head and the pvc core? A layer of blue foam or two? This is my Modular Arrow Head Design, but it can very easily be modified and made larger for a Javvie and to use the supplies to have available to you. If you only have a "Soft: open cell foam I would double the layer between the core and open cell foam. Just to be safe Oh and try to use a spray adhesive for adhering the open cell to the closed cell. Trust me, it will save you some headache later. I actually just used 3m Supper 77 spray but you can get the 90 at Home Deededeepot for like 12 bucks. That stuff is REALLY nice.

Wow, that is much more intricate... Again, out of scale. Now that I see yours, I realize the foam in the core could slip down into the PVC and completely defeat the purpose of its presence...I blocker is needed...And I did not glue at all the open cell to the pool noodle. Haha, yogurt lid.
