I'm particularly proud of Mordor/Da Jhur Gah for winning the chapter battle on Saturday ! There were 260 warriors on the field that day !!!
And of BGA getting the most ears at the Battle of Hornburg !! That drinking horn you got as a prize is so cool.
Speaking of Hornburg, what a memorable battle ! I have to explain it for those of you who didn't make it.
It was held after dark on Thursday night. Everyone got glowsticks on strings to wear around their necks. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Orcs were green, Urak- hai were yellow, elves were purple and humies were blue.
All the fighters also got 2 washers tied to string that symbolized ears. When you killed a person, you would ask them for their ears. Brutus of Rome was dressed up as Sauran, and Gurrundi was dressed as Gandalf, Beards and all !! Gurrundi even had a walking stick with Roman candles tight to it ! A lot of the romans went all out dressing as Urak-hai with painted faces. They were grunting and everything. Everyone was really getting into the characters. I was impressed.
There were two big stuffed " hobbits" that were supposed to be Merry and Pippen. I think the Roman Herald Carthos was doing their english accent voices, he was hilarious. It was a sight to behold. All you could see in the darkness was the glowsticks moving around. The sounds of battle were everywhere, Koobok chanting for Grummsh, Swords thwacking, teams hollering " form up ! " I videotaped alot of it on Andy's camera.
The second half of the battle was similiar to Helm's deep. The humies and elves were on the hill behind a Haystack " castle wall" The Orcs and Urak-hai started down by Da Camp and ran up the hill to attack. Pertinax was letting off fireworks higher up on the hill. I think it was the coolest looking battle in all of Ragnarok.
Alot of people complained about head-shots and rhinohiding. I was heralding/video-taping during that battle, and I'm telling you, it was really difficult to see what was going on in the dark. Even with the night vision on the camera. That's the down side of night battles. Those god damned cheaters.
But I think everyone will agree overall that it was an awesome battle scenario.
