I'm sure many of y'all know the battle we call "Vae Victis", out at Lake Edun in rural Topeka, Kansas.
Sunday, September 4, we will once again invade Lake Edun in SW Topeka, where they have, once again, asked us to fight with them in the same manner that the Celts' famed fighting unit, the Gaesetae, fought and defeated the Roman Army on July 18, 390 BC (or BCE for the non-christian folks): this means we fight sans garb of any kind, be it period or mundane. Allowances will get made for those who fight regularly with protective clothing (cups or protective bodices), but the rest of us will be expected to conform to the same basic three rules of Lake Edun: No Glass, no Clothes; No Jerks.
Regular field battles will happen, as well as the annual jousting from the two paddleboats (two fighters with spears trying to knock each other from the other guy's paddleboats in about four feet of water), it's loadsa fun!!!!
We're still thinking of naming this in honor of Lance "Caveman" Followwill, who came out last year, had made promises to join Lake Edun the next year, but passed away when he was accidentally killed by a co-worker last fall: I plan on commemorating him somehow at any rate, he was a hell of a neat guy.
Anyone interested in coming out, let us know by email, and we'll send you directions to Lake Edun, or you can visit Lake Edun's website at www.lakeedun.com
Don't forget our website at www.2fight.homestead.com, or our phone number at 816-753-6392
