The Tournament of Souls will progress as follows;
Rowanoak will be at the park at 11:00 am, to prep the site and field, and prepare for the event.
Field check-in will be 12:00 noon on Saturday October 29th. Fighters will need to have all weapons checked, have record of or sign a new waiver, and then register by game name, mundane name, and their personnas alignment. (aka. good or evil.)
Children will be entertained with a scavanger hunt, while the fighters warm up with Race battles, promptly at 1:00 pm.
The first tournament is the Death pit, tourney.
Death pit = A huge circle denoting the edges of the fighting pit will be layed out on the ground, with a smaller circle in its center denoting a shaft or chasm. Fighters line up along the edges of the outer circle as if chained to the wall. Weapons are placed along the edge of the inner circle opposite the fighters. Non-combatants and hobbits will line the edges of the pit outside the combat area. When the battle begins fighters must rush for the weapons and fight till the last one stands. Crossing into the center circle indicates a fall to the death. Crossing the outer circle line causes death from spikes along its sides. In addition, non-combatants and hobits will lob rocks and jab at the fighters who come to near with spears, and other nasty things, depicting the traps and other nasty devices built into the wall.
This battle is fought till a clear winner of best of three is determined. Winner will be given the right to choose a "special" ability for the final battle.
Following this battle the children will be taking part in pumpkin carving, and Halloween games. While the fighters get ready for the next tournament.
The Flayed Pairs tournament.
Flayed pairs goes like this; fighters will partner with another person for this battle.
The fighters will be linked wrist to wrist (Gladiator) with rope (special foam core, non-impact rope) and will fight all other partnered teams in a grand melee. The remaining two must then fight each other to determine who wins the round. This will be fought as a best of three. The winner will be given the right to choose a "special" ability during the last battle scenario.
(Note = cutting off your comrades arm or hand to get "free" of them, is allowed if not evily encouraged )
At this point in the afternoon or evening the children will sit down to feast on goodies and watch the final bout of the armies.
End Game battle.
The end game will be one of three possible scenarios, based on how an individual signed in based on their character. In short their "alignment" will determine the scenario to be played out.
War in Heaven (good vs. good) = The figters are all the legions of angelic beings in the ancient battle of heaven. Each side will have an Avatar, this individual will be a winner from the previous tournaments. They will have their choice of the "special" abilities listed below. Twenty five second healing of weapons and wounds is allowed by two designated healers. The battle is fought till one side has won three times.
Blood War (evil vs. evil) = This battle is fought like a god war, with the winners of the previous tournaments depicting the evil entities of the lower planes. They get to choose their dark powers from the list below, for use in the battle. The battle will be fought with twenty second regneration points (marked with a flag) and the fighters will fight for control of the field. (aka. much like the bridge battles at Rag XX) The side to control the field the longest, and earn the most points wins the round. This battle will be fought till a side wins three times.
Heaven vs. Hell (good vs. evil) = The true climactic battle of the ancient legends. The forces of good and evil will choose from the "special" abilities for this scenario and choose one for their army. Their Avatar, one of the winners of the previous tournaments will use their ability as well. The battle will be fought till a side wins three times.
Special abilities for Tournament winners;
Invulnerable limbs = limbs suffer no damage from any weapon.
Invulnerable torso = only hacking off limbs will kill this warrior.
Healing = by maintaining undesturbed contact with an individual or equipment fighter can count to 25 and have item or person healed. (Standard healing rules apply)
Elder blade = Weapon of their choice acts like a red or two hand green with only one hand.
Immunity to missiles = Yellow weapons do no damage.
Special abilities for Heaven vs. Hell battle (if it is used.)
Regeneration = after a 25 count all personal wounds (not death, or equipment) will be recovered
Resurrection = after a 25 count warrior may come back to life after death on the field. (no equipment repair.)
Reconstruction = After a 25 count warrior may repair any "broken" equipment or armor.
Note all abilities for the Heaven vs. Hell battle are only active if the Avatar is alive. Avataral death cancels special abilities. All battles are fought for total anhiallation of the other team to win.
