Minimum Garb Requirements, From the Dagorhir Manual of Arms;
1.3. A costume that meets or preferably exceeds minimum Dagorhir requirements which are: 1.3.1. A tunic of crotch length or longer. This requirement may be waived only if the rest of the costume (pants, boots, etc.) is of exceptional quality and appearance. 1.3.2. Medieval-style (baggy) pants, kilt, skirt, etc. 1.3.3. Medieval-style footwear (moccasins, boots that are not blatantly non-medieval in style, earth-tone shoes with leggings, etc.).
1.4. Forbidden Items 1.4.1 Blue jeans, white shoes, camouflage patterns such as military fatigues, exposed T-shirts, modern hats, real swords or knives (even in sheaths or cases, worn or carried) during combat or fighting. This list is not exhaustive. 1.4.2. Weapons, shields, garb, and armor may not have clearly mundane logos or prints, nor may be made with fluorescent/[glow=pink,2,300]neon[/glow] colors.
I'm re-posting this because a LOT of the veteran fighters in Mordor are not ahdhering to these minimums.
Brand new fighters are okay for a few months, but veteran fighters ! You know better ! Good grief !

Having really high garb standards does really good things for a local group. If everyone comes out looking like a bunch of scrubs, new people will be more inclined to be like "eh that looks gay" you take those same people and the same fighting and get them garbed and armoured up, and it goes from looking gay to looking badass. It really does help promote your local chapter. It is totally worth the extra effort to make sure you gots some good looking stuff to wear for practice. It doesnt take a whole lot either, find someone that has a sewing machine or that can sew, and spend 15-20 bucks on cloth.
If everyone in your practice achieves a higher standard of appearance, you have just doubled your marketability to new members. Plus if some local newspaper comes out to do a report or something, and you have guys running around in jeans and a t-shirt, what does that say about how serious you take the sport?
